Certified learning course „Design and construction of a offshore wind power park“, 25 September, 2012 (Klaipeda, Lithuania)
Updated by SB OFF E.R. project partners Coastal Research and Planning Institute and Strategic Self-management Institute offshore wind power potential in Lithuanian marine waters showed that in six territories more than 1.208 wind turbines with a total capacity of about 7.200 MW could by installed. Many development firms and investors are planning to take part in offshore wind power in Lithuania. National maritime enterprises, participating in West European offshore wind industry, are capable and ready to do industrial works on this advanced energy branch. According to new Republic Lithuania Law on Renewable sources energy legislative acts for start tenders on research and design of offshore wind power parks will be actualised from 1st January 2013. So, a time for start active work is arriving.
Project partner Danish Technical University (previous Risø laboratory) together with Lithuanian partners Strategic Self-Management Institute and Coastal Research and Planning Institute are organising a crash course „Design and construction of a offshore wind power park“ on 25 September 2012 in Klaipeda, Lithuania for Lithuanian specialists. Lectures by Danish professionals will be held on Offshore wind energy, technology status; Project development and economics; Assessment of offshore wind resources; Environmental impact of offshore wind and Policy and support mechanisms. Local offshore wind energy conditionality will be overviewed by national professionals. Certificates of the course will be given by DTU and Lithuanian Wind Energy Association. Lectures will be given in English and Lithuanian languages with simultaneously translation. Participation is free of charge.
