    Project responsibilities

    Klaipeda University Coastal Research and Planning Institute - CORPI as the former coordinator of the Interreg III A project POWER has valuable experience and knowledge regarding OWE development potential in Lithuania, Poland and Russia (Kaliningrad oblast). CORPI will adapt the existing study programs in Klaipeda University by adding OWE components to improve the preparation of specialists in this business. During the project CORPI expects to contribute for preparing/adapting the optimal principles of EIA of potential OWE projects including monitoring programmes preparation. CORPI will also take part in the trade fairs and exhibitions in order to promote the OWE potential of the SB region. Through the newly developed maritime cluster in Klaipeda "Baltic valley", CORPI will also contribute to the linkage of OWE related business.

    PWES will co-organize stakeholder events about political aspects, co-organise the visit of the boat exhibition to Gdansk/Gdynia and local and cross-border business events to facilitate cross-border cooperation in the industry. Based on this PWES is interested in improving conditions for R&E and innovation transfer into the industry and will help prepare an information/databases for education courses concerning the OWE sector.

    Project responsibilities

    The University of Gdańsk - POMCERT along with PWES will be responsible for implementing the project in Poland. Large number of staff is employed at the University and its intersectional character will provide the experts and experience that will help carry out the tasks. The University of Gdańsk will be mainly responsible for incorporating the science feature into the whole concept, however will also use all available contacts and links to approach decision makers and local authorities to promote the offshore wind energy. The University of Gdańsk will contribute to all tasks foreseen by the project with particular emphasis on summer school organization, promotion of new career opportunities among students and strengthening the links between OW industry and higher education.
