Component 4:

The offshore wind industry is at a turning point, with the first large scale offshore wind farms having recently gone into operation and several more in the construction or planning stage. The opportunities which arise for local companies not only from the offshore wind energy (OWE) sector but also other, more traditional sectors are manifold and not utilized sufficiently thus far. Competition within the region is certainly necessary, but should be accompanied by direct (cross-border) cooperation and successful business relationships of companies from all five South Baltic countries. To initiate and strengthen these ties as a basis for a future strong offshore wind energy cluster is the aim of this component. The Municipality of Karlskrona , Sweden is the responsible partner for this Component.

Exemplary activities and results: Mapping the OWE supply chain, Presentation of South Baltic OFF.E.R at external exhibitions and fairs, local and cross-border business events, business-academic seminars, etc.
